SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week offers picture perfect sailing on the tropical waters of North
Queensland surrounding Magnetic Island.
The SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week Organising Committee and the Townsville Cruising Yacht
Club invite suitably found yachts to compete in the seventh annual SeaLink Magnetic Island Race
Week, 29 August – 3 September 2013. The regatta is run under the auspices of the Townsville
Cruising Yacht Club and highly accredited Race Officer, Denis Thompson, will again be involved as
the Principal Race Director.
There are six racing divisions on offer including IRC Racing, PHS Racing, Sports Boats, Cruising
with Spinnaker, Cruising non Spinnaker and Multi-hulls. Racing around Magnetic Island provides a
unique experience with the landscape on the island providing some truly spectacular views.
Magnetic Island will come alive with the many social functions that are not to be missed. The 2013
regatta will see the introduction of an exciting street festival, which will add to the already vibrant
social calendar. Other activities including live performances, daily Yachties Hour and activities also
take place all over the island during the regatta. We look forward to hosting you in August!
