Safety 1st Scooter School 1.7

Over 7000 primary school students have completed our course, learning to be safe while riding their scooters to school and recreationally.

With scooters becoming ever more popular with younger students as their preferred mode of transport, it is important they learn to ride safely. We at Safety 1st Scooter School are passionate about this. Our training course teaches children:

- Scooter control and awareness
- Footpath rules and etiquette
- Emergency stopping
- How, when and where to cross roads
- Road rules as they apply to scooters
- Scooter maintenance and helmet checks

We also emphasise the danger of cars, both on the road and on driveways. We use the “FIND, STOP, LOOK, LISTEN, THINK” method for crossing roads and practice this with a street scene mock up. The course runs for 1.5 hours and includes a safety talk, practical riding and learning games . On completion of class Students receive their very own “Scooter Licence”.
