Reef Encounters Fishing Charters is a multi award winning SA fishing charter that has been operating from Marion Bay and Pondalowie Bay on the lower Yorke Peninsula since 1998 and is the longest operating full time fishing charter in Marion Bay.

Reef Encounters Fishing Charters is recognised as one of the foremost and leading fishing charter services in South Australia.

Mark Wynbergen started the fishing charter business in 1998 and has owned and operated it since with over 18 years' experience operating off Marion Bay, Mark prides himself on a professionally operated experience.

Reef Encounters operate in some of the best South Australian deep sea fishing hot spots and will take you on a fishing tour with destinations that include Wedge Island, Kangaroo Island, Althorpe Island, Investigator Strait, Neptune Island, Thistle Island and beyond.

We operate from Pondalowie Bay which is located in the spectacular Innes National Park and the closest departure point to fish Wedge Island and beyond. Marion Bay is our departure point during the winter months.

Accommodation

The accommodation is included for the night before your charter and is owned and managed by Reef Encounters. We own two excellent houses in the Marion Bay township, both charter houses are located close to the jetty, tavern, boat ramp and general store and each sleep 12 people. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar provisions are provided at each house and a BBQ is also available for use. If you wish to extend your stay at the accommodation for an additional night, prices work out to approx. $20 a head (depending on numbers). We also offer holiday accommodation at great rates if you are looking for a get-away without the charter (subject to availability).


The “Vixen”

The "Vixen" is a 45 foot Harriscraft customised long range charter vessel which has a custom fit-out, enclosed toilet, galley and ample shade and seating for all people on board along with vast deck space. We are surveyed to take 12 plus we have a deckhand on board to assist you with all your needs.

Corporate groups are welcome to come and experience an offshore fishing tour as part of a corporate retreat or corporate team building activity with many other land based activities available locally.
