Play Therapy is the least intrusive form of counseling for children. Thus it is to children what talk therapy is to adults. Play is a child's way of communicating; they use the toys as a medium to express issues and emotion that children struggle to find words for. Sometimes children do not understand the deep meaning that many words hold so therefore cannot express their problems to the extent that they need to, to heal. As adults we tend to talk away our fears and anxieties to other adults, at which point we feel relieved and understood, children if in given the time and space play anyway their fears in the same process.
