Ciavarella Oxley Estate is a family-owned winery focused on making small quantities of premium wines.

Oxley Estate has been described as ‘a tiny gem.’ Our vineyard contains small plantings of a number of varieties, and the emphasis is on quality and attention to detail so we produce wines of distinction and appeal. Among our vines is a tiny patch of the rare grape aucerot, of which we are the sole custodians in Australia.

We handcraft every wine, preferring to keep a close watch as the wines progress at their natural pace, rather than forcing them along. We are passionate about developing our own unique blends, such as a white fortified made from aucerot and verdelho, and our Dolcino, a sweet cabernet-merlot with a dry finish.

Our stable of wines is focused on quality and varietal distinction and includes wines which have long been highly regarded such as chardonnay, chenin blanc, durif and late havest semillon aucerot and more recent additions to the stable including zinfandel, riesling and fortified durif and muscat, which are recieving high praise.

When you visit our cellar door, you will often find us going about daily vineyard and winery work. If you have the time, we can slow down for a chat and answer any questions — sometimes with a short tour of the barrel room and a personalised tasting of wines in development or upcoming vintages.

Ciavarella Oxley Estate is located in Oxley, north-east Victoria, about three hours drive from Melbourne, on the well-known "Snow Road" that winds its way off the Hume Freeway near Glenrowan through Oxley, Milawa and on to Myrtleford, a popular route towards Bright and the ski fields of Mt Hotham and Falls Creek.
