The National Council of Women was founded in 1896 with the SA branch
founded 6 short years later, in 1902, with Catherine Helen Spence as
the inaurgural Vice President. During our history we have been
honoured that many notable women have been amongst our group including
politicians, community and industry leaders and, of course our
wonderful extended membership.
We have represented up to 30 women's organisations at any one time,
their members, as well as individual associate members.
Our headquarters has been at 95 South Terrace, Adelaide, for many
tens of years.
Our passion is for the community and advancing women and families in the community,
