Inspired by the wonders of the Cape Cod region, Kim and TJ Peabody have created Nantucket, an innovative concept restaurant and bar that offers a contemporary dining experience to the Western suburbs of Brisbane.

The restaurant, located “at” Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is the ideal place to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, linner, dinner and even an evening cocktail.

The restaurant connects the Peabody family to their Brisbane roots. The family attended school here and operated the Fountain Room at the Brisbane Cultural Centre. After eight years as the Managing Director of Sales and Marketing for Craggy Range Vineyards in New Zealand, which is owned by his family, TJ was keen to return to his hometown to develop a place that combines his families love for great food, wine and the local community.

The inspiration for Nantucket sprung from a family trip, where the Peabodys fell in love with the look, feel and tastes of Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. TJ spent years in the wine industry travelling around the U.S. and was struck by contemporary American fare that focused on fresh, local and often organic ingredients.

“Our family eats organic produce mostly because there is a difference between produce that has been nurtured and cared for than produce that hasn’t,” TJ says. “At Nantucket, our patrons can rely on the fact that the produce we offer in our dishes will always be of a high quality.”

Together with Paul McGivern, General Manager and Chris Sell, Executive Chef they have created a menu that reflects the best of contemporary American cuisine. Appetizers include crab cakes, beef pierogies and onion rings. Mains like steak, pork chops and salmon are cooked over American-style charcoal. All mains are served with classic American sides like mac ‘n cheese, succotash and twice-baked potatoes. Desserts include comfort food favorites like homemade pies, brownies, cookies and ice cream.

Our team has also developed a robust bar menu that highlights the newly-reborn American fervor for cocktails with a “Do It Yourself” martini, signature drinks like a blackcurrant gin fizz and bellinis, made with white peach nectar and Italian Prosecco. In addition, Nantucket has a wine list that spans the globe, offering a wide variety of options at all price ranges. Here, non-alcoholic beverages aren’t an after thought. The bar serves a house blend of coffee beans, great teas and homemade ice teas, freshly squeezed juices, smoothies and milkshakes. While in the United States, TJ embraced the revolution of the bottomless glass, which means that at Nantucket many non-alcoholic drinks are refilled for free.

Nantucket is a warm and inviting spot that has many meaningful extras, like free Wi-Fi throughout the restaurant, discreetly placed televisions, great music and even old-school presented newspapers by the bar designed expressly for the comfort of guests. TJ and Kim want you to feel that this is your home away from home. A place to relax and be taken care of!

As TJ says, “Caring for you, your family and friends is the first thing on our minds.”
