Metanoia Theatre is Melbourne’s freshest producing and presenting house. We support the development of theatre practitioners seeking to experiment with computer-based technologies in live performance, through partnership with our key technology and research partners.

Our fourth year as a company will see us moving up and out of the Mechanics Institute, taking our unique brand of theatre to sites in and around Melbourne and beyond. You will be seeing more of us, closer to you!

Metanoia has programmed over 150 companies across the last four years and supported 30 experimental and hybrid artists through our Live Works program. We’ll also be rolling out a programme of workshops, participatory art works, forums, and discussions to engage our audiences and artists.

Metanoia always seeks to foreground perspectives and artists from diverse Australian backgrounds, making multidisciplinary and contemporary art. Our Artistic Directorate alongside Metanoia’s Artistic Team ensures that audiences receive a programme of multiplicity in artform, produced by a range of emerging and established artists. Works are programmed that are relevant, daring and engaging.
