Being the biggest girl in the room never seemed to be a major issue growing up but by the age of 15 I started to realise I was becoming lonely, uncomfortable, self conscious, jealous and wishing every night before I went to bed that I would wake up “skinny” the next day. For some reason it never happened and I slowly began gaining excessive amounts of weight due to my bad food choices and lack of exercise. Being reminded everyday by either my concerned family or worried friends was hard to listen to but not as hard as the nasty names and mean gestures from as I reached my late teen years. At the age of 22 I had reached a massive 124kgs never had a boyfriend and was classed as Morbidly Obese.

Now don't get me wrong my mum had paid for me to try and loose weight in the past with things like Weight Watchers, Lite and Easy and Dieticians but at the time I was just not mentally ready to commit and would give up after loosing a few kilos thinking I had it in the bag.

Then one morning I looking in the mirror and was sadden'd by my own reflextion. It was only then that the strangest feeling overcome me, like someone had switched on a light bulb. I was mentally ready to begin my weight loss journey so I signed up to Jenny Craig that day and stuck to it. About 2 months into my journey I joined a local gym and started training. It was hard enough being the "fat girl" at the gym and hated seeing all the other lean, fit girls working out but it made me step outside my comfort zone and seek help by getting a Personal Trainer who I felt would be able to guide me in the right direction and motivate me on those days I just "couldn't be bothered" or was "too tired".

Exactly 1 year after the beginning of my journey I had reached my goal weight. I was healthy, fit, happy and loving the new lifestyle I had created. I put my weight loss success down to three things:

1. MINDSET
2. MOTIVATION (Personal Trainer, Jenny Craig)
3. SUPPORT

Along my journey I have met many inspiring people who have helped me reach my goal and pushed me to my limits knowing that in the long run I would thank them for it. They have made me realise that I want to inspire and help others as they have inspired and helped me. I am now a Personal Trainer who's goal is to help as many people as I can reach their goals or even simply guide them in the right direction.

If I can do it, anyone can do it and I’d love to help anyone reach their goals and live that healthy happy life they deserve to live.
