Little Yarra Steiner School (LYSS) is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent, Rudolf Steiner School providing a complete educational program from Pre Kindergarten through to Senior College and VCE.

Little Yarra strives to 'serve the freedom of the human spirit' by providing a balanced and disciplined environment in which a full range of academic and creative subjects blend to nourish the 'whole child'. We work with the head, heart and limbs, that is, the intellectual, emotional and motivational development of the child.

Our holistic approach to child development and education seeks to unfolds the full potential of the child from our 'Little Seeds' babes in arms parent group, through to Playgroup and Kindergarten, the Primary and Secondary years and finally Senior College and VCE.

The LYSS also seeks to encourage a thriving school community and a healthy school culture through mutual support and affirmation of parents and community members. As such, LYSS hosts a regular Community and Parent Education Program, supports the lively LYSS Parents and Friends Association and publishes a parent and community newsletter "Sweet Porridge'.

Parents, student alumni and community members involvement in the school's farming, craft and fundraising groups are encouraged and welcomed, as is their attendance at LYSS social events such as our annual Spring Fair and musical performances such as our Easter performance of Bach.

Little Yarra Steiner School is located on 60 acres of land in the beautiful Yarra Valley approximately 70 kms from Melbourne, Victoria.
