We all need pretty things, be it ribbons for little girls or a simple set of earrings for the ladies. It's all about feeling good. Accessorising our outfits makes us feel great and watching girls skip off to a party, or even to school, with matching ribbons in their hair is a joy. My story...

I'm a mum of three beautiful little girls. Girls who love pretty things. La Vela Design was born from my love of making things, and the joy in watching little girls looking gorgeous with ribbons in their hair.

I got tired of watching the disappointment on my girls faces when their favourite hair accessory broke after only being worn a couple of times. They also needed to wear hair accessories in school uniform colours only. Navy just isn't exciting day-in day-out to a six year old. Now they wear gorgeous, well made matching korker ribbons and cute snap clips each day, all in school colours. They look smart and fun at the same time.

I also enjoy accessorising my outfits with earrings or a bracelet. Simple things that make me feel good and are practical for my busy days as a mum.

All my items are carefully hand sewn or glued with special jewellery glue that lasts a long time. I only use products that I have tried and tested and believe to be of quality. I take pride in making things that should last some time.
