What is kinesiology?.........A tool of freedom!!!

So what is Kinesiology??....Well, one thing is for sure, it’s certainly not voodoo or fish slapping for that matter! Applied Kinesiology was developed by the late Dr George Goodheart DC (founder of Touch for Health and Applied Kinesiology for chiropractic principles but, PKP Kinesiology (what I do) was founded by Dr Bruce Dewe (chiropractor and MD) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_vqKMmjVwY . PKP put simply is the amalgamation of brilliant minds the likes of Dr Goodheart, Dr Bruce Dewe, Dr John Thei DC (author of Touch for health) http://touch4health.com/history.html and many more.

PKP has roots in anatomy and physiology but is essentially an energetic model. By this I mean we are not treating a symptom or particular disease……..we actually treat the “whole” body. People come to us with a problem and we’ll look at the context of their life to find how that problem began and the effect it is currently having on their aspirations, health challenges, emotional stress or physical movement. We look at the whole body’s response to an issue which allows us to get in deeper than counselling or other mental therapy as we are essentially making a connection to the mental and emotional factors that are having physical ramifications.

Kinesiology allows you to take charge of the way you relate to the past, your present circumstances and the future. Drawing on Chinese philosophies, Kinesiology has close links with the acupuncture concept of energy flow and recognises the integral relationship between the flow of energy in a meridian and its related muscles, organs, tissues and emotions. These energy flows can be evaluated by muscle testing and the “Muscle testing” used by Kinesiologists does not measure the pure physical strength that a muscle can produce but, rather how the nervous system controls its muscle functions.

There are over two-hundred bones connected to hundreds of muscles in the body. These all need to be working properly together to enable good nerve, lymph and blood supply throughout the body. Gentle corrections and alignment of these systems may be applied to balance the body's physical structure in order to achieve optimal health. Some corrections may consist of homeopathy, nutritional changes, brain integration, emotional stress relief techniques and many more.

What can I expect in a session?

Session duration and cost:
Initial session 1 hour and 20 minutes and cost $120
Subsequent sessions: 1 hour and cost $110

What do you need to wear: Comfortable clothes and for ladies – it is recommended you wear pants instead of skirts or dresses. Sessions are conducted fully clothed the only thing you’ll be asked to remove is your shoes.

What else you need to know about your session: The first 10 minutes of every session is spent discussing you and finding out what it is you would like to improve upon - whether it be reducing pain, improving performance or other specific health and wellbeing issues. Together, we will use this information to set a ‘goal’ for the session structured around how you would like to feel, function and perform in the specified areas.
