KAIYAH is the first name of one of the co-founders. This mysterious name is believed to be of Afroasiatic origin, possibly from Egyptian or Hebrew, and is thought to mean “Full of Grace” according to some sources. Yet other sources state it is of Japonic or Estonian origin. Whatever the case may be, KAIYAH is a diverse, unusual and unique name – and that describes many of our products which are often handcrafted, handmade or involved some kind of manual process to make. The beautiful Crimson Rosella, which is indigenous and often sighted around the Dandenong Ranges in the outer east of Melbourne, was the inspiration for our crimson-coloured logo.
