Just North - YETI 2.05

Youth Empowered Towards Independence (YETI) is a community based organisation that works with vulnerable young people. YETI aims to provide a supportive, empowering, responsive and healing environment to meet the needs of vulnerable young people through the provision of holistic services that foster social, emotional, spiritual and physical well-being.

Its a safe, free and friendly space for young people aged from 12 to 25..

YETI offer a range of services and programs:
- Day Program
- Case Management
- Dialectic Behaviour Therapy Group
- Next Step after care Program
- Same Sex Attracted Youth Intersex Transgender Group (SSAYIT Group)
- Just North Program

The Just North program addresses volatile substance misuse and supports youth workers and other professionals working with young people in Far North Queensland.
SUPPLY REDUCTION
VSM refers to deliberate inhalation of common household and chemical products for the purpose of intoxication.
Just North aims to reduce access and supply of volatile substances in Far North Queensland. Just North can provide education in relation to the storage, sale and misuse of inhalable products.
The program can assist in developing a response plan and monitor trends with a regional misuse register.
If you witness any issues of inhalant use in the region please contact YETI between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday

CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT
Just North does not work directly with young people; instead builds capacity by supporting youth workers in Far North Queensland to;
- Create new networks
- Build on learning and develop new skills and knowledge
- Develop new service delivery models
- Seek funding or explore different ways of using existing funding
- Improve the way we work together to deliver services to young people
