From an early age, I've developed a love of photography. From the early days with a Box Brownie, to developing my photographs in the darkroom; and now exploring the diversity that comes with shooting with digital cameras.
After spending several years working as a graphic designer, and a number of job changes, I decided to pursue my passion for photography.
Today I love to spend my time outdoors, capturing the ever-changing light of this great country. Occasionally exploring the wide range of genres that photography offers. Including portraiture, landscape, product/commercial.
Located in the Albury-Wodonga region of southern New South Wales and North-East Victoria I have at my door a variety of landscapes to provide inspiration. From the snow-capped mountains of the Australian high country, to the rolling plains of Australia’s food bowl dotted with towns and cities both old and new.
Drawing my inspiration from some of the world’s great photographers of the 20th Century, including the likes of Ansel Adams, Edward and Brett Weston, Max Dupain, Francesca Woodman, Olegas Truchanas and Peter Dombrovskis; to the more contemporary photographers of Christian Fletcher, Richard White, and Mark Grey.
Imperative of my work is the journey combination of everything leading up to the culmination of photography. Such as the conceptualisation of an image, the research and planning, form and texture, light, and technique facilitates the realisation of the concept.
My aim is to capture unique images by looking, and thinking, outside of the box.
