Helloworld Mackay & Mt Pleasant are locally owned and have been in operation for over 31 years. The business began operation in 1986, when John Cooney purchased the business (then known as Harvey World Travel) and has grown from a two man team, to employ 35 local staff.

The business’s philosophy is that you must always do the best you can for your customers and always treat your clients’ holiday like you are booking it for your mother. We sell holidays which are dreams for our customers; we know we have to do all is possible to get it right, from understanding the budget, what type of experiences our customers are looking for, etc.

Collectively, we’ve travelled to all 7 continents and 147 countries. We are one of the most awarded travel offices in Australia and strive to provide our customers with the best value travel and unbeaten customer service. Formerly Harvey World Travel, helloworld represents an exciting new chapter in our business. It is a modernisation of our look which really brings us up to date. We may have a contemporary new name and look, however our message is we are still the same people and with the same great service our customers have come to know and love.

The travel industry is constantly evolving and the biggest change we have seen is the advent of the age of information. Travel shows on TV and the internet have really made the world a much smaller place. Customers are more informed than ever and understand there are lots of options out there. From airlines offering four class’s of travel on the one aircraft, holidaying is no longer just about getting to a destination. Now it is about the experiences; rail journeys, river cruising, ocean cruising, as well as events such as the Melbourne Cup, Chelsea Flower Show in London or Running of the Bulls in Spain. The bucket list just keeps growing and our customers travel priorities evolve with it.
