The Gundaroo Film Society may well be Australia's oldest film society having started in 1905. Films were shown in the Gundaroo Hall, which in the early 1900's was the "Elite Skating Rink", and post war renamed the Gundaroo Soldier's Memorial Hall.

The society has had plenty of stops and starts over the years but is active today. After a recent break in 2012 and 2013 the society is backup with new digital equipment, a new screen and new enthusiasm.

The society is non-profit and charges a nominal fee of $50 for the remaining 8 screenings for the 2014 calendar year.

The first screening this year is the full length movie "Chololat" released in December 2000 starring Juliette Binoche, Judy Dench and Johnny Depp amoung others.

The opening night is on March 29th at 6:30pm with a free movie, and guests are invited to a pre-movie meal and desert (chocolate mouse of course), for $30/head.

Subscriptions for the year will be taken on the night.
