Granite Belt Arboretum Australia 2.9

We will establish Australia's first Californian Coastal Redwood forest grown from clones of 2,000 year old trees. These ancient trees are genetically geared for resilience and a part of a world wide plan to preserve their living DNA for the future.

The redwoods grow for up to 3,000 years and their future protection is important. Less than 5% of the forests survive in their natural habitat on the West Coast of USA, in a band from Northern California up into Oregon.

Growing the redwood forest in the highlands of Southern QLD will take skill, patience and determination, and a band of strong supporters.
