GB Electrical began in 2003 as a partnership, operating out of Greg and Coralie Blacks’ property in Sunlands.

Since then, it has expanded, moved to Waikerie, started a retail shop front and currently employs 12 staff, dedicated to supplying and installing electrical, solar and security solutions across the Riverland and beyond.

January 2003 Greg and Coralie Black start GB Electrical as a partnership operating out of their own property at Sunlands.

March 2004 GB Electrical takes on their first employee, Mark Johnson

April 2005 We install our first stand alone solar system in the Clare Valley

December 2008 Ben Platten comes on board as a partner in the business

December 2008 We make the move to a new workshop premises with a retail shop front at 5 Ian Oliver Drive in Waikerie

December 2008 GB Electrical changes from a partnership to a company

December 2009 We win the SMGT & WIN TV Host Employer of the Apprentice of the Year!

October 2010 Began supplying and installing grid connect solar systems throughout the Riverland

March 2011 We start operating as a Jaycar stockist

July 2012 Went online with our first website

July 2012 Won the Jaycar Stockist of the Year for SA and NT

October 2012 GB Electrical wins a trip to China with Suntech solar panel manufacturers

January 2013 We win the Platinum Power Partners award for installing more than 600kW of solar in 2012

October 2013 We win a trip to New Zealand with Suntech solar panel manufacturers

December 2013 Ben wins the Rotary award for the Apprentice of the Year

January 2014 Won the Platinum Power Partners award (again!) for installing more than 700kW in 2013

January 2015 Won the Gold Power Partners award for installing more than 350kW of solar in 2014

December 2015 2600kW of solar supplied and installed throughout the Riverland to date

January 2016 Won the Silver Power Partners award

Today GB Electrical now employs 12 staff members, and specialises in supplying and installing electrical, solar and security solutions across the Riverland and beyond.
