Federal Hotel 4.9

Our goal is to bring one of Fremantle’s oldest and grandest establishments back to life. The Federal Hotel was first opened in 1887 and was touted in the press at the time as one of the most ambitious projects seen in the colony of Fremantle. We believe the heritage and architecture of Fremantle makes the city unique from the rest of the metropolitan area, and it is our desire to showcase this beautiful venue once again.

We have undergone a quick refurbishment of the main bar area and re-opened to the public in this area only. It is our plan to keep moving on decorating and perfecting this space. Over the rest of the year we will be undertaking rolling renovations of the entire pub, including the accommodation and function rooms. Our next phase of the project is to renovate the upstairs balcony and adjoining bar area to be a cocktail, spirit and wine bar.

The concept of the Federal Hotel is to be a modern style Australian gastro pub set in a stunning heritage site. The space is bright and open with many different areas from which you can choose to drink and dine. Our beverage offering is based around a unique but approachable offer from the beer taps, including a small craft beer bar with rotating guest producers. We offer both middy and schooners from our tap range. Our bottled beer range is also approachable and craft based. The wine list is focused around West Australian and Australian producers with a small amount of international wines available both by the glass and bottle.

Our kitchen is focussed on a menu that is based on traditional Australian pub food, with inspiration taken from the tastes of Asia. There is a well thought out share section, burgers, mains and salads.
