About Us:

We started out because we believe that everybody deserves to feel FABulous! We believe that our unique combination of Pilates, Yoga, Boxilates and Barre Attack classes holds the key. Yoga is enlightening, Pilates gives you strength, Boxilates is a great combo of Pilates and Boxing cardio, and Barre Attack is a FABulous workout.

Our key trainers, Marian Morrison and Amanda Brookes, are friends with more than 20 years of combined experience instructing in fitness, Yoga and Pilates. They started the business together because they could see how FABulous being ‘fit’ made people feel. They saw an opportunity to combine their skills and passion and share Pilates, Yoga, Boxing and Barre with the people of Brisbane. The people who deserve to feel FABulous. The people who want to take the journey to a healthier and happier self. The people who want to have fun in a comfortable, welcoming environment.

Our FABulous Team:

We believe we have the best Yoga, Pilates and Barre Attack instructors in Brisbane. Each member of our studio family fits in with our relaxed, friendly atmosphere. They take their classes seriously, but not themselves. We have more than 10 in our studio family. They are trained and have years of experience in so many areas… aerobics, personal training, ballet, teaching, parenting, and of course, Yoga, Pilates, Boxilates and Barre Attack! Together, they present the ideal workout combination for feeling FABulous.

Marian Morrison is one of our co-founders and key trainers. She started group fitness instructing in 2000. Prior to that, she was a nurse. Marian says she loved nursing but keeping people fit and well was so much more rewarding than looking after them when they weren’t. After teaching aerobic classes, such as Body Pump and Step, Marian progressed to Pilates and Yoga: an enlightening change and a welcome relief to her body! Marian believes yoga is for everyone and works hard to make her classes inclusive. Everyone gets the workout they want. Everyone feels comfortable enough to practice at their level. Everyone has fun!

Amanda Brookes is our second co-founder and key trainer. She has been teaching Pilates since 2008 - both Reformer and Matwork. Amanda says it never ceases to amaze her how wonderful Pilates is for your body. As an instructor, she’s witnessed a lot of fabulous things – body transformations, mindset changes, health issues eradicated, self-worth embraced. To Amanda, being ‘fit’ is not about how you look, but how you feel, physically and mentally. Most importantly it’s about being healthy and able to live the life you want to live.

FABulous classes for everybody:

We have something for beginners through to regular Yogis. Anyone is welcome to try any of our classes. Our FABulous instructors are there to explain everything and ensure everyone has a safe, fun experience.

Power Yoga incorporates strength, posture, flexibility, balance and physical and mental stamina training all in the one class.

Yin Yoga is a relaxing meditative style of yoga that focuses on stretching the myofascial connective tissues. Yin Yoga is a natural healing practice that helps keep you feeling young and supple. It is the ultimate stress release.

Hot Yoga classes are Vinyasa Yoga with the room heated to between 31 and 34 degrees. This helps to loosen muscles and joints and allows you to go deeper into poses. It provides similar benefits to our Power Yoga, including improved strength, flexibility, stamina and balance.

Pilates Mat is wonderful blend of strength and mobility training that improves posture and creates long, lean muscles. A great introduction to Pilates for newcomers or just a great workout for Pilates regulars.

Pilates Reformer is the ultimate strength-building workout for your entire body. In a nutshell, it’s a Pilates class using a machine and it’s generally a little more intense than mat work. The springs in the machine add resistance to your workout. Our Ab Fab studio is equipped with 12 high quality Pilates Reformers.

Barre Attack is a dynamic fusion of ballet, Pilates and fitness, providing an all-over body workout with special attention for the legs, butt, thighs and arms. You don’t have to be good at dancing. We’re not and we love it!

Customised programs:
We really do want to share Yoga and Pilates with everybody. We know that corporate fitness programs are a growing trend. For employers, having a fit and healthy team makes good business sense. For employees, access to corporate fitness programs is a great benefit, keeping them motivated and loyal.
We are happy to talk to anyone about customising a fitness program. Whether it’s a workplace, community group or mothers group, we believe we can create a FABulous program for any willing team.
