Daniela Miszkinis is a Transpersonal Art Therapist, Holistic Counsellor and a practicing artist.

With over 16 years experience working with children and adolescents she is well in-tune with her young clients' needs and can easily and effectively form a warm therapeutic relationship.

She has facilitated groups in adult educational and therapeutic settings and has extensive experience working with migrants and refugees as well as Dementia and Alzheimer's sufferers.

Daniela provides in-depth psychotherapy utilising Jungian psychodynamic and Mindfulness techniques. She believes in a holistic approach to treating trauma, anxiety and depression.

Her art therapy practice incorporates modalities such as Archetype Work, Sandplay and Play Therapy, Dreamwork, Focusing Oriented Psychotherapy and Narrative Therapy.

Daniela's desire to work as an Art Therapist and Counsellor comes from her own experiences of overcoming an early life trauma and migration, becoming a wife and a mother, dealing with a life threatening illness and finding her own unique voice as an individual, artist and thinker.

Daniela offers an authentic and non-blaming approach to therapy, which positions clients as the experts in their own lives. Art therapy allows clients to deeply engage with troubling issues by means of imagination and creativity. Artistic ability is not a requirement; art therapy is underpinned by the intrinsically creative nature of the human spirit.

Daniela is currently completing a Master of Art Therapy at La Trobe University, holds an Advanced Diploma of Transpersonal Art Therapy and has studied Postgraduate Diploma of Creative Arts Therapy at RMIT University. Additionally she completed postgraduate qualifications at the Victorian College of the Arts and a Diploma of Education at The University of Melbourne. She has Honours in literature and creative writing from Monash and RMIT Universities.

Daniela Miszkinis is a full member of the Australian Association of Holistic and Transpersonal Counsellors (AAHTC), the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the Australian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ACATA).
