"D'YARI (THE GIFT)"
A unique production inspired by Kurdish music, poetry and story, a captivating synthesis of music dance and storytelling.
Muharrem Aslan, a Kurdish musician and singer, originally from Turkey, shares the classic Kurdish love story Mem and Zin, interwoven with his own personal journey. Muharrem's virtuosic saz playing and vibrato singing are hypnotic as they express the deep emotions of yearning for home, loss, love and joy.
This show celebrates the creative exchange between performers from diverse traditions, as they share traditional Kurdish, Indian and Greek melodies, and also create new music and dance together.
