Createafly - Fly Tying 2.56

Hi There!

My name is Evan Jardine and Createafly is my platform to encourage creativity in fly tying!

Like a lot of people in my age group my first exposure to Fly Fishing was watching Tom Gleisner and Rob Sitch explore beautiful places in their quest to catch dinner in the TV series A River Somewhere.

However, growing up in Northwest Victoria there wasn't much exposure to fly fishing. The Murray River between Wentworth and Hattah Lakes was the place to go, with the local dams being the only other option. Targeting the mighty Murray Cod and Golden Perch on Lures and Bait with my Grandfathers as guides.

When I moved to Ballarat for University it didn't take long for the fly fishing bug to grab me! The Ballarat Fly Fishers club and their members taught me everything from the basics to competitive fishing, casting and of course the social side of clubs!

2003 - 2nd Place in the Victorian State Championships
2003 - Represented Victoria at the National Championships

My competition career was short lived due to a move to far south coast NSW chasing salty dreams on a new adventure.
