Cootamundra LAC - NSW Police Force 3.8

Cootamundra Local Area Command covers an area of 17,880 square kilometres and comprises of 16 Police Stations. The Command is divided into three (3) zones being Northern (Young, Koorawatha, Greenethorpe, Grenfell, Caragabal and Quandialla), Central (Cootamundra, Harden, Boorowa, Wallendbeen and Stockinbingal) and Southern (Tumut, Gundagai, Jugiong, Adelong, Batlow and Talbingo) for the purpose of Deployment, Management, and Administration.

The Command is predominately farming and rural communities. The farming ranges from forestry and apple orchards in the Southern Zone, Canola and Wheat in the Central Zone to Cherries and Stone Fruit in the Northern Zone. Based on the 2006 Census, the population of Cootamundra LAC is 43,312.
