410 Sprintcars return to Timmis Speedway Mildura for the “Col Beasley Classic”


Col Beasley has arguably been one of the most influential people involved in Timmis Speedways history.

Col the well know Akubra wearing farmer come speedway racer sadly passed away in Dec 2014 but his presence & legacy is still felt at the club today.

Col a past president of our club was the first to commit the club to holding a round of World Series Sprintcars in the early 90's then know as the Quit Series.

Also know as one of the clubs most successful competitors not only in Sprintcars but also sedan racing. Col has held numerous state titles, club championships and a host of other awards.

So we feel that it's fit to honner Cols efforts with an annual sprintcar event to be held at the club & track that he loved so much.

Also to celebrate his well acclaimed racing number 27 we have on offer to the competitors over 27k in prize money to be fought out over the 27 lap feature.

So Timmis Speedway is happy to present the "Col Beasley 410 Sprintcar Classic Presented by Dulux" to be held on the newly highly banked Mildura track on Sunday October 30th.

Timmis Speedway club president Ben Aworth added “it’s amazing the response we have had to the meeting, there’s drivers coming out of retirement just for this meeting & to have an amazing naming rights sponsor in Dulux Paints Australia coming on board it has really stepped things up & we’re highly grateful for their support not only in the event but also the club”

Early indications point towards a number of Australia’s best 410 sprintcars drivers & teams including past Australian champions all being in attendance for this race meeting.

In addition to this we will be holding the Col Beasley Invitational Class.
This race as named is by invite only & open to current, previous racers & team owners that competed against Col over the years, & will be a standalone class for the meeting; this will provide some fun filled racing on the night as well.

This meeting will be the season opener at the newly upgraded Timmis Speedway Mildura.
