BUSINESS... or not
Cloverly Cupcakes started as Brisbane's first wholesale vegan bakery in 2013. Although successful and respected among the vegan and allergy-prone community, I made the difficult decision to close in 2016, to focus on my 3 young children. In January 2017 I am trialing turning this page into a personal Blog, covering more than just vegan baking. I hope you'll join me on this journey, and that we can help each other out. I want to create a true vegan community where members can all help and support each other on our vegan/baking journeys both in Brisbane and abroad. Thank you for those who have stuck around during the transition, and welcome to any newcomers x Katie

NAME ORIGIN
The name Cloverly is a combination of the word Clover and the Vietnamese spelling of my middle name, Lee (Ly). As my husband is Vietnamese, this was once a name consideration for a future daughter. I used this as an Instagram account name when the one I wanted was taken! When it came time to register a business name, a wise person pointed out that the English
meaning of Lee is 'meadow' or 'wood', which conjured an image for me of sitting amongst clovers in a meadow with a sweet cupcake. I got goosebumps. Name sorted. Upon further research I learned that The Celtic meaning (I'm part Irish) is also beautiful - 'healer'. So, a plant that heals. And I believe strongly in the healing powers of a plant-based diet.
