Northern Suburbs Squash Centre is an 8 court centre that has been operating since the 1950’s and has a strong history in Brisbane, Queensland and Australian squash.

Carseldine Squash Club (playing out of Northern Suburbs Squash Centre) submits teams into the Northside Squash League which is administered by Brisbane City Squash. Brisbane City together with Central, Northern and Southern Regions make up the state body Q Squash. Q Squash is a member of the National body Squash Australia.

Carseldine Squash Club is working cooperatively with Brisbane City Squash, Q Squash and Squash Australia on a number of programs, including an expanded junior program.

Carseldine Squash Club has relaunched its junior program and has many services to offer primary and secondary schools and their students:-
1. Free junior beginner squash coaching
2. Discounted rates for school children before 6pm
3. Saturday morning junior competition
4. A venue for school sport
5. An opportunity for inter-school sport

1. Free junior beginner squash coaching
FREE Junior Beginner coaching every Tuesday during school terms 4pm to 5.30pm. Racquets and eyewear are provided and the coaches are Bruce Alexander assisted by junior players Connor McNeill, Corey Sergeant, Karissa Barclay and Ashlyn Barclay.

2. Discounted rates for school children before 6pm
All school children can play after school up to 6pm for only $5. This includes a racquet. They can play for as long as they like, provided courts are available.

3. Saturday morning junior competition
Carseldine Squash Club will be submitting teams to Northside Junior Squash League administered by Brisbane City Squash for next Winter season which commences after Easter 2016.

This fixtures competition is conducted on Saturday mornings from 9am to 10.30am on a home and away basis. Teams are made up of 3 players and are graded based on ability not age. The competition has two seasons, Winter and Summer and is only run during school terms. Other centres with junior teams are Sandgate, Stafford, Wavell, Redcliffe PCYC and Caboolture.

All results of Night-time and junior matches are posted on Squash Matrix (www.squashmatrix.com) Squash Matrix is a Web-based Squash Ranking System developed to improve the method of ranking players.

4. A venue for school sport
Carseldine Squash Club is normally open from 3pm daily but can open at anytime for school groups. The centre has 8 courts and could cater to 28 students at 4 players per court. (More students could be accepted). The cost would be $5 per student which would include racquets, balls & eyewear.

5. An opportunity for inter-school sport
Within a short distance of Carseldine Squash Club there are many schools and with some having secondary students. Carseldine Squash Club would be able to host an Inter-School squash competition for secondary school students.

With the assistance of Brisbane City Squash and Q Squash, Carseldine Squash Club could grade all the participants into their appropriate teams and then provide results cards, scorebooks and create a school division on Squash Matrix.

Students would also be able to participate in the Met North selection event to represent Met North at the Queensland Secondary Schools Squash Championships conducted annually in May. From this tournament a Queensland School Squash team is selected to play NSW in a challenge series in August every year.

Carseldine Squash Club is willing to work with schools and provide a facility and programs that meets the needs of the students and their school.

Carseldine Squash Club’s junior coaching coordinator is Bruce Alexander from the Alexander Squash Academy. Bruce is a Level 2 accredited elite coach and has coached World, Australian and Queensland champions. Bruce’s two sons are also involved in the academy

Zac Alexander - a professional squash player who has represented Australia at World Junior Championships and at the Commonwealth Games. He reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 36 in September 2012. Zac was recently the coach of the Australian Youth Commonwealth Games team for the event held in Samoa in June 2015.
