The Story of Carberry Electrical

Back in 1997, following a blighted career in soccer (which we won’t talk about), owner Andrew Carberry began his career as an Apprentice Electrician in Glasgow.

After 10 years with Glasgow City Council, Andy left to work for a private company which saw him travelling all over Scotland right up to Orkney and the surrounding isles. Despite witnessing the Northern Lights first hand and meeting some very ‘interesting’ people in these remote areas, he felt that somewhere warmer might be a good option.

In 2009 Andy moved to Australia and after transferring all of his qualifications and getting all the necessary Aussie licences, he landed a job in Apollo Bay where he met his wife to-be (that’s me).

Once he had passed all of the usual Aussie inaugurations including having a dead snake thrown at him, he was on a roll, applying everything he had learnt in the UK over here and also learning about being an Electrician in Australia.

We later moved to Melbourne where he continued with residential work but also acted as Project Manager in the creation of several large apartment blocks.

However, the plan had always been to start his own business. Following the birth of our son, Anders, we finally got into gear and are proud to introduce you to Carberry Electrical.
