Can Canberra become the second Australian city to have a Cat Café? Not without community support for this new ground breaking venture!

What is a Cat Café? It is a themed café whose attraction is cats that can be watched, played and interacted with by the visitor. The cats residing at the café will be rescue cats that have been rehomed and lovingly cared for in the cafe.

Cat Cafés originated in Taiwan in 1998. They are now becoming increasing popular all over the world. Australia's first Cat Café opened in Melbourne in July 2014 and there are plans in other Australian cities to open Cat Cafes in the near future. It is only fitting that Canberra being the nations capital also have a Cat Café open soon or risk lagging behind other Australia cities!

We are hoping to gather support to start a Cat Café in Canberra, the nation's capital in 2015. After all Canberra is home of Australia's most famous cat Zanda (www.facebook.com/Zanda.thecat), so what more fitting city to have a Cat Café!
