Sri Lankans love their spices and enjoy food that explodes with flavour. This, combined with my passion to cook inspired me to start Candy N Spice. A Sri Lankan café serving authentic Sri Lankan food.
Since Sri Lanka traditionally does not have a dining-out culture, much of the best food is cooked at home. Therefore I can proudly say that what ever you choose to eat at
Candy N Spice, your taste buds are going to rejoice with happiness. A regular Sri Lankan customer once described my food as “Gedara Kama” meaning - meals from home.

It has been a great pleasure introducing authentic home-made Sri Lankan cuisine to our local community who have been so adventurous in embracing it with a passion. Many of my customers who have visited Sri Lanka recently or in the past, have shared with me that is reminiscent of some of the experiences they had in Sri Lanka but feel that they’ve been invited in to my home. I am very proud to say that all my dishes are authentic. I even make our own Candy ‘N’ Spice chutney and curry powders using my ACHCHI’S (grandma’s) traditional recipes. Nothing is mass produced. I take great pride in saying that no dish leaves my kitchen unless I am satisfied with it. The most popular dishes served at Candy ‘N’ Spice are the Kukul Mas (Chicken) Curry, Kottu Roti (A flat roti bread chopped into bite size pieces and sautéed with Onion, Curry leaves, vegetables and your favourite meat Curry and of course the Hoppers (A wok shaped crispy pancake made with a rice flour and coconut milk batter which is fermented for 24 hours)- Hoppers are a Sri Lankan delicacy made here in my kitchen, just for you!

I love cooking and much of that love goes into each dish thus enhancing the outcome!
