Cairns Community Kitchen 3.24

Cairns Community Kitchen is a volunteer run initiative with a simple mission. Our aim is to make a wholesome, nutritious meal once a fortnight from donated foods and serve it to anyone in the community in return for a donation.

We created CCK to help reduce food wastage and to strengthen connections within the community by creating a safe, relaxed, fun, cheap place for people to hang out.

We would also like to offer a space for artists and performers a receptive crowd to play to! If you would like to play music or show off any other talents either get in contact with us via facebook or simply come and chat to us on the night.

CCK is always seeking more volunteers! There are many things you can do to help. Once a month we need people to help cook- no experience is necessary (it can be a great way to learn some cooking skills in an informal, relaxed environment). And of course, there is a huge pile of dishes at the end of every night that need some love!
We are also always seeking more people to become regular volunteers and assist in some of the coordination roles that are necessary to make CCK happen. Please don't hesitate to get in touch!
