WHAT IS THE STUDY ABOUT?
The research project investigates the treatment after a broken wrist (fracture to the radius bone in your forearm). This is a very common injury. Hence we want to see what is the best treatment to reduce pain, regain movement and improve your ability to do everyday tasks such as opening a jar, using a knife etc.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
After you come out of plaster, you will:
1. Need to attend your first assessment at one of 2 sites (Campbelltown or ACU North Sydney) which will involve:
o looking at your wrist movements and hand strength
o questionnaires about your level of pain and any difficulties with everyday tasks with your hand
2. Be allocated to a physio close to you for 4 free treatments over 4 weeks
3. Be asked to do some home exercises twice per day (approx.5 mins each) 4 times per week
4. Be asked to complete some follow up tasks
a. After 4 and 8 weeks, your wrist movement and hand strength will be re-assessed
b. At 6 and 12 months you will be asked to complete the questionnaires again
