The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT) is a re-purposed rail corridor in southeast Queensland, Australia that caters for horse-riders, cyclists, bushwalkers, joggers/sprinters, bird-watchers, photographers, native plant enthusiasts & many other varied interest groups, including charity organisations utilising the Trail to raise funds for those in need.

When complete, the BVRT will stretch 161kms in length, from Wulkuraka in Ipswich to Yarraman in Toowoomba.

The Trail passes through the land of the Traditional Owners; the Jagera, Ugarapul, Yuggera, Wakka Wakka & Jinibara People. We acknowledge & pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of the land through which the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail passes.

The Local Government Councils through which the BVRT passes:

• Ipswich City Council
(Wulkuraka - Borallon)

• Somerset Regional Council
(Wanora - Linville)

• South Burnett Regional Council
(Benarkin - Nukku)

• Toowoomba Regional Council
(Gilla - Yarraman).

The Trail follows the former Brisbane Valley Railway Line, which ran north-north west 157km from Ipswich to Yarraman; branching at Wulkuraka (Brisbane Valley Junction) from the main line to Toowoomba.

The railway was built in stages, reaching Esk in 1886 & Yarraman in 1913. At one time, Linville station was the largest loading point for cattle in southeast Queensland. Passenger services operated until 1967, but freight services continued until the line's closure. It closed in stages between 1988 & 1993.
