Bellingen Jazz Festival 3.23

The first Bellingen Jazz Festival happened way back in August 1990.
What started out as an idea formed by a group of friends sharing a few drinks has continued for twenty four years and become an enduring Festival that is now an important part of the cultural fabric of the Bellinger Valley.
The first few years were a free-wheeling affair, with all the excitement that comes to any new venture. Great music, memories and friendship were forged between the musicians, audiences and organizers
The festival has become a fine musical showcase and a tremendous family social occasion.
Over the past twenty four years Bellingen has presented the complete range of jazz styles and the 24th will widen this range of music further
We understand that not all who come to the festival are died in the wool Jazz fanatics.and so what we offer are tastes of a wide range of Jazz music and of music that influences Jazz. From Ragtime to Free, Blues to Funk, Traditional to Rap, and from Klezmer to Choro, from the Carribean to New Orleans … and the list goes on.
The Festival’s “live music boutique” feel has given the music an immediacy that is so important to create a link between the performers and the audience.
The Festival is run by dedicated volunteers and enjoys wide community support and strong local business sponsorship.
This year is the 25th and is our biggest artist line up yet.
We have new venues and a Street Party on Saturday Afternoon.
Above all we have a huge range of music played by the best of musicians who are dedicated to ensure you have an unforgettable musical experience.
