Balingup Sustainable Small Farm 2.23

Balingup Sustainable Small Farm™ is an 8 acre property on a permanent creek within walking distance of the beautiful village of Balingup in the South-west of Western Australia.

We practice: Self-sufficiency/Homesteading, Natural Farming, Organic growing and Permaculture.
We do research into sustainable methods of food production by working with nature.

Since 1997 we have been setting up:

• a Sustainable Living Demonstration Site
• a Seed Farm for the production of rare Heritage and
Heirloom Vegetable varieties
• a Food Plant Museum for saving rare varieties of
food plants
• a Herb Farm for growing culinary, medicinal and
magical herbs
• an Edible Plant Nursery
• an Apothecary garden and place of healing
• an Educational & Research Facility for Sustainable Living, Sustainability, Self-Sufficiency and Self-Reliance .

We preserve our own food and eat with the seasons. We're not vegetarian but vegetarians and gluten-free diets are welcome and catered for.

The property has a variety of wildlife including numerous birds and native marsupials. We have no TV but an impressive library of self-sufficiency, vegetable, herb growing, natural health, environmental science, cooking, magic and craft titles.

We take helpers in from Helpexchange ( www.helpx.com ) in the growing season to help with weeding, seed sowing, mulching, herb propagation, seed saving, picking, preserving, etc. Beginners welcome. General housework and farmwork hours and starting times vary with the season. (We work to live, not live to work).

Please note we have a policy of no drugs and no dogs.
