The increase in Nippers fees this year is due to Life Saving Victoria making it compulsory for all nippers to wear a fluoro vest, for safety reasons and a compulsory LSV Levy fee (Insurance). No nippers can participate without wearing the fluoro vest or the club nipper cap (See LSV information**). All club competitors must wear these vests in water events.

Nippers commences with the under 6 age group so children need to be 5 years old by September 30th.

Nippers are required to wear the Aspendale nipper cap to each session, which can be purchased for $10 at the club. We will also have Club bathers available for purchase this season.

Aspendale Lifesaving Club encourage active participation for everyone, parents are required to help assist with the many areas that help us run a successful Nippers Program.

All members over the age of 18 years must have a current Working With Children Check

The Membership & Leadership Development Executive (M&LD) advise clubs that for the 2013/2014 season it will be compulsory to use the high visibility lycra tops for all open water based junior programs and activities conducted by Life Saving Clubs. This includes swims, board paddling and wading. Lycra tops for junior water-based activities should meet the colour guidelines set out by SLSA, which is fluoro pink.
