I've always loved painting, drawing, building stuff, sculpting, creating from scratch...all things creative. I have been very involved in my own blacksmithing and artistic metalwork business for 8 years, and although I loved it, I missed the finer, more delicate art of painting.
When we relocated to Australia from South Africa in 2011, I saw it as a great opportunity to make some changes to my artistic direction too. As a result I have ticked a major dream off my bucket-list- to be a full-time artist.
I will still consider commissions for decorative metalwork, but now focus on painting and teaching. I believe there's a good reason that we have the specific dreams and passions we were given, and I love encouraging people to explore their creativity and life dreams.
Themes I love include antiques, old crockery, antique silverware, gothic cathedral arches and windows, old doors, macro photography and much more! I am also developing a bit of sculpture, installation and printmaking skills, which, if I could have it my way, would all be combined into large-scale inter-discipine works!
