LEE KERNAGHAN IS BACK IN TOWN!
COUNTRY music legend Lee Kernaghan is heading back to Wheabelt this March, to take part in the 2013 Dowerin Rodeo.
The renowned singer and songwriter performed a couple of his latest hits at the 2012 Dowerin GWN7 Machinery Field Days, but will return for a full concert on the 2nd of March, thanks to the support of Westpac Bank.
Dowerin Events Management Chairman Ashley Jones said after the success of the 2011 Rodeo, a bigger and better event had been planned for the New Year.
“We are extremely excited that Lee Kernaghan will be returning to Dowerin, as he made such a great impression on the visitors to the Dowerin Field Days in August,” Mr Jones said.
“After getting a taste, I’m sure people from all over the state will be flocking to see him in concert next March.”
The Dowerin Rodeo will incorporate a full program including bull rides, saddle bronc, bareback, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and much more.
Both Junior and novice events will be on offer, catering for all ages and abilities.
In addition to the Rodeo, there will be local musicians playing throughout the day, equestrian competitions and demonstrations, exhibitions and family entertainment. The concert itself will kick off at 7pm.
“It will be a fantastic day for the entire family, with something for everyone,” Mr Jones said.
“Free camping will be available, so why not make a weekend of it?”
Mr Jones said DEM was extremely grateful for the support of their sponsors, including Westpac, Radio West and Avon Gazette, as without their commitment, such events would not be possible.
