The Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Archaeological Prospection and Virtual Archaeology (LBI ArchPro) is dedicated to the development of new techniques and methodological concepts for landscape archaeology by combining geophysics, computer science, geomatics and archaeology.
It carries out its research activities together with several international partner organisations. Large-scale case studies of selected archaeological landscapes throughout Europe offer distinct opportunities to test the efficiency and applicability of the newly developed non-invasive technologies for the discovery, documentation, visualisation and interpretation of Europe’s archaeological heritage.
The LBI ArchPro is a research institute of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft (www.lbg.ac.at) and was founded in 2010.
