THE WAKE HARNESS IS THE FIRST WATERSKI & WAKEBOARD HARNESS IN THE WORLD!

The CR WAKE HARNESS is the first set of its kind in the world to provide enormous advantages to waterskiers and wakeboarders thanks to a specially developed tow system. This invention has followed the unique approach of cutting the intensive physical effort needed during waterskiing and wakeboarding in half and by doing so enable longer and more enjoyable rides while at the same time leaving the feeling of waterskiing and wakeboarding untouched.


THE CR SET: FUNCTION, USAGE & SAFETY

What is new about this patented invention is the combination of a comfortable and highly loadable waist harness as well as an ingenious handle system. Both parts are connected with a tow system. The connection of the handle and the harness to the mainline is conducted over a pulley, using the well-tried principle of the pulley block. The resulting reduction of the physical effort needed on the handle by 50 %, relieves the arms and back considerably. Moreover, the pulley ensures an even distribution of the towing force on the handle and the harness, which works favourably on the whole body. Half of the entire towing force acts on the harness, which means it is in a much lower position on the body and therefore closer to the waterskier’s centre of gravity. This makes having good posture while skiing easier and the skier has better control.

The inventor came up with a smart solution to connect the waist harness to the line. In contrast to a rigid spreader bar with hook, commonly used with wind and kite surfing, the pulling force is absorbed by a flexible leader line, which is connected to both sides of the waist harness. It is a leader line because the actual connecting piece consists of a pulley. This pulley is mounted to the line, which allows for free movement from right to left and back. This guarantees that the torque is always directed centrally to the longitudinal axis of the body and no unwanted rotations occur.

The system, however, is only complete with the specially designed automatic release mechanism (automatic quick release). This immediately breaks the connection to the waist harness as soon as you let go of the handle and the actuator cord, which hangs slack during the ride, becomes tight. The CR handle system remains attached to the boat. Apart from the really simple operation the quick release contains an integrated weak link , which guarantees additional safety for the skier.

FROM THE IDEA TO THE FINISHED PRODUCT

The inspiration to develop such a set for waterskiing and wakeboarding, consisting of two parts, is a result of the passion, of the inventor Norman Weiss for water sports, which he has practiced since childhood in his “second home” Cape Reamòl on Lake Garda. This also explains the brand name. This region is considered a real Mekka for water sports and attracts many enthusiasts from all over the world. This is where the idea was born and where most test rides have been performed. The inventor started realizing his vision in 2010. Spurred by the international market, the popularity of waterskiing and last but not least by his personal passion he tested the first prototype already in July of that year. And already in the same year the CR handle system was filed as a US patent, which was approved three years later, in August 2013.


People of different ages, builds and weights, as well as by beginners, advanced athletes and real specialists tested the CR Waterski & Wakeboard Harness. Making this sport accessible to water sports enthusiasts with physical disabilities and making practicing easier is an important concern for Norman Weiss. With this new type of sail surfing, less weight rests on the board because of the pull coming from above, similar to a kite chute. This makes surfing already at moderate speed absolutely attractive. And when motorboats can no longer keep up because of wind and waves, catamarans just start to rev up.
