TURISMO: PUNTO DE PARTIDA

Playas de canto rodado y de arena natural, un azul en el mar, un centenar de lobos marinos, reservas naturales de un atractivo admirable y el Monumento al Obrero Petrolero “El Gorosito”, hacen de nuestra ciudad el punto inicial del turismo en Santa Cruz.

La Dirección de Turismo de Caleta Olivia (SUPTUR) pretende encausar, a través de su monitoreo, las políticas turísticas de inclusividad en la localidad y la interacción de ésta con otras localidades, teniendo en nuestra región una mirada turística más amplia y atractiva. El trabajo estadístico y la fiscalización pertinente en los establecimientos que tengan algún tipo de injerencia con la actividad, es una de las herramientas que permiten fortalecer y mejorar el turismo, y de esta manera se busca mejorar el servicio en cuanto a la calidad de la industria turística en la ciudad.

En cuanto a los atractivos turísticos, se realizan guiadas en los diferentes circuitos locales y charlas educativas para fomentar la cultura de la hospitalidad, el cuidado del medioambiente y la preservación de nuestras reservas naturales, monumentos, y diversos patrimonios locales tanto tangibles como intangibles. Esta tarea nos da una visión de futuro en el manejo responsable y sustentable de nuestros recursos.

Teniendo en cuenta, que nuestra ciudad no es netamente turística, pero cuenta con el atractivo del extenso Paseo Costero, su diversidad de playas, la flora autóctona y silvestre, la fauna costero-marino, se ha buscado en estos últimos años responder a una demanda regional de turistas que nos visitan todo el año, básicamente en temporada alta (Diciembre – Febrero), y turistas nacionales y extranjeros que emprenden la aventura hacia el sur de nuestro país. Así Caleta Olivia se ha convertido en el portal a los Hielos Eternos y un pasaporte a la diversidad.

TOURISM: THE STARTING POINT

Stone and natural sand beaches, a bluish sea, hundreds of sea lions, admirable and attractive natural reserves and the oil worker monument “Gorosito”, turn the city of Caleta Olivia into the tourism departure point in Santa Cruz province.

The local Tourism Direction pretends to achieve touristic politics related to local inclusion as well as integration between other cities, providing a more attractive and wider vision to our region.

The statistic and supervision work done by establishments related to tourism, represent one useful instrument to help increase and develop the activity and as a result of this, to improve the quality of the touristic services.

Talking about touristic attractions, guided tours are organized in order to get to know them, as well as educational dissertations, to encourage hospitality, environmental care and preservation of our natural reserves, monuments and another tangible and intangible patrimony. This task gives us a vision of the responsible management of our resources.

Taking into account our city is not considerably touristic, but offers attractions such as the coastal walk, beaches with a wide range of activities, the local flora and sea fauna; it has been projected in the last period of time, to attract a regional wave of tourists that visit the city throughout the whole year, specially during the high season (december - february) and national and international tourists who choose the adventure of traveling to the south of our country. That is how Caleta Olivia has become the gate of the eternal glaciers and a passport to diversity.
