RCDR - Rashid Center for Diabetes and Research 3.8

Rashid Center for Diabetes and Research (RCDR) is located at Sheikh Khalifa Hospital Ajman, United Arab Emirates.

The establishment of the centre was made possible through a generous donation to the UAE Ministry of Health from His Excellency Mr. Rashid Abdulla Al Noaimi, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Centre is a UAE Ministry of Health facility managed by Global Health Partner, a Swedish healthcare organization with extensive experience in developing and promoting specialized health care services. An association to Skane University Hospital in Sweden has been establised to secure quality of treatment, research and professional education. RCDR's multidisciplinary team offers most of the treatment modalities relevant for diabetes and its related complications under one roof.

The centre is divided into different departments, including a diabetes clinic, a lifestyle clinic with an educational kitchen and a gymnasium, a foot clinic and an eye clinic. The centre also has a fully equiped laboratory that has been ranked as number 1 in the UAE and number 5 out of 725 laboratories internationally (Bio-Rad, 2011).

The Centre has been built following a donation from His Excellency Mr. Rashid Abdulla Al Noaimi, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, to the Ministry of Health (MOH) in order to be the first public centre of excellence for Diabetes Management and Research. This generous contribution by His Excellency shares the MOH's vision of improving health care provision standards to the highest international levels.
