تم تسويق أولى منتجات بايوديرما في العام 1977 وذلك مع ابتكار "نود"، أول شامبو لا يحتوي على مواد منظفة.
قام "جان-نول توريل" بتأسيس مختبرات بايوديرما بحسب هذه الفكرة الرائدة:
"عندما تعاني البشرة، يتوجب علينا استخدام طبيعتها البيولوجية لإحيائها مجددا، وذلك بدلا عن تعريضها للعلاجات."
واستنادا إلى ذلك ولد مبدأ "البيولوجيا الجلدية".
اليوم، تعتبر مختبرات بايوديرما مجموعة فرنسية مستقلة لانتاج المستحضرات ومقرها مدينة ليون في فرنسا، وهي تختص بالمنتجات الجلدية. تملك بايوديرما أكثر من 50 براءة اختراع دولي، وهي تحظى بدعم أخصائيي الجلد، كما ينصح بها الصيادلة، وتعتبر إحدى العلامات التجارية المفضلة في جميع أنحاء العالم.
وقد أضحى مبدأ "البيولوجيا في خدمة البشرة" طريقة مبتكرة لتطوير المستحضرات الجلدية.
وتقوم مختبرات بايوديرما الجلدية بتطوير وتسويق مستحضرات جلدية- تجميلية أنتجت بالتعاون مع أخصائيي جلد ومراكز أبحاث بارزة (أمثال CNRS، INSERM و CHU) لأجل الوصفات والاستشارات الطبية.
تعتبر بايوديرما إحدى المختبرات الأكثر وصاية من قبل أخصائيي الجلد الفرنسيين. وهي متوفرة في أكثر من 85 بلدا، كما أن صيتها آخذ بالازدياد على المستوى الدولي. وعلى مدى السنوات الخمس الماضية، شهدت بايوديرما معدل نمو فاق الـ28 %.
